I'm browsing hard drives again... my current external drive is giving me cyclic redundancy erros (whatever they are)... so, I think it's time to upgrade one of the internal ones.
I'm curious, is there a particular reason why Samsung drives are so much cheaper than WD? And why seagate more expensive than both? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...-053-SA&tool=3 - this looks like a total bargain, and very good reviews. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...-144-WD&tool=3 - Ditto with this, but a lot less space? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...odid=HD-054-SA - And this, same thing, but cheaper... and with more cache? Am I missing something? Why the weird differences in prices? Anyone?

nice , the 1TB sounds cheap i'd go for it without hesitating , so yea as you see the higher cache samsung is cheaper ,that makes no sense , but price difference between brands never made sense anyway ! lol

samsung harddrives are good quality drives, and they're are pretty quiet compared with harddisks from seagate and maxtor, i would go for samsung or western digital
